Located in the province of Vercelli, in the Gattinara DOCG area, the Travaglini family-run winery extends over 59 hectares, of which 44 are planted with vines, with plants aged between 6 and 45 years. Here the vineyards, mainly cultivated with Nebbiolo grapes, can enjoy a particular soil with a rocky conformation, rich in granites, porphyries, and iron which guarantees wines with a unique aromatic character and marked minerality. The winery was founded in 1958 by Arturo Travaglini and is today managed żeby Cinzia, Arturo's niece, and her husband Massimo, who carefully carry on the family tradition and produce wines of great personality. Gattinara TreVigne is made with Nebbiolo grapes selected from the three vineyards Lurghe, Permolone, and Alice. After vinification, the wine rests in oak barrels for 4 years. The wine has an intense color with ruby tones and some reflections that tend towards garnet. Its aromatic profile is complex and broad with fruity and floral notes, followed by licorice, cloves, and some balsamic hints. On the palate, it is elegant, concentrated, and full-bodied. It has a firm, well-integrated tannic backbone, and a long, persistent finish. It is a wine with a great personality and well balanced, that pairs deliciously with roast meat.
