Spread across 30 hectares of premium Loire Valley soil, this winery was one of the trailblazers of biodynamic viticulture in France - in terms of respecting terroir, Domaine Huet has set a standard for countless others to follow. Those at the winery source their grapes from three distinct parcels of land, all within the Vouvray appellation. Le Clos du Bourg, Le Mont, and Le Haut-Lieu, which is the origin of this stunning dry white. Composed of 100% Chenin Blanc, Le Haut-Lieu Sec bursts with scents of yellow apple, ripe quince, white flowers, beeswax and chalky minerality. The soils at this vineyard are deep, heavy and clayish, providing the wine with a smooth, mouth-filling texture. It is a thirst-quenching drink, full of crisp acidity and complex fruit flavours. With some time in the cellar, this wine will likely go through a muted period, before developing fascinating tertiary notes of dried fruit, yeast and honey. Of course, it can also be enjoyed now, in its youth. Consider pairing this gorgeous Chenin Blanc with a delicate fish dish, coated in a creamy sauce.
