Located in Adro in a panoramic position with respect to the Franciacorta wine region, the Ferghettina winery was founded by Roberto Gatti in the early 1990s, after the purchase of the Ferghettina vineyard, near Erbusco. Over the years, the company has continued to expand its holdings and today it extends over approximately 200 hectares, managed organically aby Roberto's children, Laura and Matteo. Half of the grapes produced are used for its own production, and the rest are sold. Each vineyard and row is worked individually, to obtain the maximum expression of the grapes and produce cuvées of exceptional quality. Ferghettina Milledì Brut is a 100% Chardonnay. The grapes come from 12 different vineyards planted on clayey limestone soils and located in 8 municipalities of Franciacorta, at an altitude of approximately 250 meters above sea level. After vinification and blending, the wine remains on the lees for at least 36 months. This elegant sparkling wine is characterized aby a straw yellow color with brilliant golden reflections and a fine perlage. On the nose, it reveals rose and citrus notes, aromas of white fruit, mineral hints, and nuances of bread crust. On the palate, it is firm but elegant, fresh, and with a strong mineral streak. The finish is long, persistent, and slightly citrusy. It is perfect as an aperitif, with seafood, oysters, or risotto with scallops.
